GRAMMAR

In this lesson we are going to learn about Comparatives and Superlatives. We are going to study and do exercises together.

We use comparatives and superlatives to compare contrast different objects in English.

COMPARATIVES

We use comparatives to compare two things. The comparative is followed by "than".

Look at these examples:

• John is 1m80. He is tall. But Chris is 1m85. He is taller than John.
• Russia is bigger than Spain.
• Is English more difficult than Spanish?

SUPERLATIVE:

We use the superlative form to talk about three or more objects to show which object is 'the most' of something. 

Look at this example: 

·         The giraffe is the tallest animal of the jungle.

IMPORTANT EXCEPTIONS

There are some important exceptions to these rules. Here are two of the most important exceptions:
